Whats wrong with the factory mounting position on the axle for the trac bar?

It's too far forward. I moved my axle a good bit forward and now I won't have the space. The drag link has to occupy that space now. So the track bar has got to move back over the axle tube.

As a side note: My Approach angle is BITCHIN!

Big boxes from Rock auto arrived today. All the little bit and bob plus all my clutch parts YAY!!!.

Also check out my new Keeper truck. Found it today while head hunting some older trucks for people. Bought it on the spot and I won't tell you guys what I paid for it. For fear of the butt hurt. Bonus cab, 3500 4x4 Dually, automatic, rust free and it fired right up!!! only downer is it has a 350....waaa waa waaaaaaahhhh. Me thinks this needs a 24v Cummins that I just happen to have. I have been looking for this one for a good while. Ok Ok OK....what I paid for it rhymes with five hundred bucks....LOL

But then everyone would tho k it was just a regular old crew cab and not a BONUS. My girlfriend walked around saying bone us for about 5 minutes today laughing.

It's going to be a while before I can put any effort into the "Bone US" cab but just know that I am conspiring as we speak. Gotta figure out the best way to get a big built 24v in it with an overdrive automatic. This old girl will be built into my full time tow rig and travel rig. So it's gonna take some time to gather parts but I have the dodge truck already that I am NOT scared to GUT LIKE A FISH to make my dream a reality.

Also got new shocks for the rear, Ujoints, seals and bearings for the front axle and a bunch of ARP bolts for the flywheel, clutch and bellhousing. Got chores to do this morning but I hope to get the whole drivetrain assembled on new motor mounts and set into the frame so that I can start working on the crossmember. Getting all my lifting stuff lined up. Going to set it as one unit with the track loader.Easy peasy right?

There is a NP208 that lost it's life recently....if you need any internal parts.

Got the shiny new flywheel, pilot bearing, clutch and motor mounts installed. New mount bolts and clam shells. I discovered a box in the shop this morning with a BRAND NEW in the box , high torque starter. I'm almost certain it's for a 6.2 diesel. Are they the same for the Big block? That would be extremely convenient.

Need some thoughts on rear shock placement. I'll be adding a suburban fuel tank to the rear as a note. Wondering if both shocks forward and angle back ( to mimic the suspension travel) is the best setup. Keep in mind, not a rock crawler. This thing will need to tow weight and ride well.

I thought you had a K5 tank? The burb tank is quite a bit longer.....

I think you'll have a hard time angling them back with a burb tank unless they are on the outside of the frame.

that's a K5 tank, same one I run. I know @Bent77 looked at running the burb tank under his longbed but decided against it, IIRC it was too tight of a fit.
