Didn't have a date or location on this one. Should be easy enough to research. Obviously a lost A/C.
humm thats an interesting picture, dosent look like anythng he couldent recover from, just from the picture....
On a lighter note, i saw a 'bird 2 seater take off from travis on tue. morning, it went straight up at about halfway down the runway.
Pretty dang cool, id love to go for a ride in one of those, My favorite modern airplane
I remember being at an air show at El Toro Marine base (located in South Orange County California) back in the late 80's or early 90's (can't remember exactly), when a Navy F-14 Tomcat crashed. I saw the whole thing.
i'd bet that plane droped strat down like that, and just couldent nose up.
saw the vid of an air show with two migs flying around and they were supost to cross and the one lost visual in the clouds and flew right though his buddys plane, he ejected from the half the cockpit was in right befor it blew and the other guy punched out after safely aiming his plane for a ditch.
Oh man!! that is an awesome and truely scary photo!
They had an F14 like that at an air show over here recently....still makes me go all goose pimpley thinking of the sound and feeling of it taking off just yards from me. Those after burners just tear right thru your soul!
In the picture, that is the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. That's a bad day for a pilot...
I can't believe that guy is just standing there with his hands behind his back!!....hasn't he noticed or what??
i dident think that was crashing
i just though thae pilot was doing a fly by.
way cool shot
Yeah i think you're right actually. I was just looking at the photo again and there is a lot of vapour from the leading edges as if he is pulling a tight turn rather than about to drop into the sea.
But like you say....way cool shot!!!
Th first pic of the ejection is a Thunderbirds F-16 at an air show in ID. Here is the link to the story pics and video too
The second pic of the Tomcat was a flyby and I believe the pilot was grouded for 30 days after it too, but awesome picture.
actualy i though for a sec it might be a screen shot from top gun.
but the pic is too good to be a screen shot, unless it came from something elce
most surprising is the calmness, guy on the mic wasent freeking at all, just doing his job.
and the pilot cam, just by watching that you wouldent know something was wrong untill he punched it, didevery thing he could then got the hell out!!!
thanks for the links
