Just want to know if it is OK to drill holes in the roll cage, I want to mount a fire ext., a couple of speakers and a light on the cage. i don't have a welder so I'm wondering if it's OK to drill holes for bracket mounts. No greater than maybe 1/4" if that. I'm just concerned that drilling these in the wrong location may mess with the strength of the cage.

Well I mounted the lights, fire extinguisher and speakers using hose clamps on my buddys CJ-5.

The speakers required a little custom bracketry to be made for them but the rest was simple, and we painted the clamps black before tossing them on so they wern't as obvious.

Just another option.

No problem as long as they are not large holes...

Not bad, that gives me some ideas. One of the main reasons for the drilling though, I was hoping to run the wiring through the cage tubes, just to keep it neat.

Thanks!

I ran my CB cable and such through the tubes. Works great...

I made harnesses and ran them all through small conduit then zip stripped that to the back of the tubes.

Looked clean enough for a jeep. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
