Hello, I recently bought a 72 K5. I have wanted one since high school, years and years ago. I got one with little rust, 350 and a 4 spd. It also has a 4 inch lift and 35's.
The plans are to drive it as is for a while then do a resto on it. (stock orange with 33's)
I have not been able to drive it home yet though. It is sitting in a friend's driveway since I bought it. (about an hour away) The tires are in great shape but badly weathered. (cracks and bulges on the sidewalls as well as between the treads) I tried to trailer it but the trailer was too small, I was by myself and it ended up falling off! :1zhelp:
(I'll try to post some pics)

So now I need to find some 35's but no one has any deals and I can't find any 15 inch used. (everyone around here has 18's and 20's!)
Will newer style chevy rims fit? Like the 6 lug tahoe / truck styles? I can get a cheapo set of those and at least go pick it up. I am dying to get it home!!!
I have not even had a chance to go through it completly yet.

Newer 6 lugs won't work. Why not go ahead and get some new 33's if that's what you want? They should look fine with the 4".

Honestly, that truck looks pretty good as it is. I'd put some new 35's on run the hell out of it for a while before restoring it.

That thing looks nice man...compared to alot of first gens out there(mine included) your is damn near a complete resto already

I was afraid they would be too small to fit over the hubs. Crap.
The plan is to drive it for a year or so. (actually my niece will be driving it for the next several months)
I just didn't want to spend $850 on tires and then switch them. I want to run 35's on it now... looks cool! I might have found some used 35's with a little life left in them, we'll see tomorrow.
Then I can at least go pick it up.

It is pretty nice as is, looks like it was all redone in the 90's? (from the color and style?)
I want to loose the 4 speed and put in an automatic.

Anyone have the password for the pig pen?
