Is there a specific place that the top cap needs to be drilled and tapped when doing the JKW hydro assist? There were no documents provided to show where the top fitting needs to go. The picture on their website is not good enough to go of of. If any one has the ems or jkw set up and could post up any info I would be gratefull.

Thank you.

I have searched and found a lot of info for drilling the actual box case but not the top cap.

Don't tap either of the aluminum caps. They are too weak and will crack. Tap the cast iron housing of the steering box. I would post up a pic of mine but www.scbd.org is down right now :( Maybe if you bug WillyShaver he will do something about it ;)

The top cap is plenty thick and there are a few aftermarket companies for the front cap. That is the cap that splits anyway. If you look on the inside of the top cap there is a small recess on the long side. Center that and you have your spot. I did it about 4 months ago and have been fine, this is on a DD with 40's that sees severe rock use.

It is a crap shoot. I have seen the same thing not last a single run.

If you are going to do it...do it right and tap the housing. It isn't that hard.

I have not modded my pump at all. I am sure the extra pressure has a little to do with it. I would love to mod my pump but worry about pump life and can't commit to race parts yet.
