when i turn my lights on, without pressing the brake pedal, the right rear brake (top one) light is on. i tried a new bulb. any pother suggestions?

start checking for shorts in that rear harness... start jiggling em here and there.. you remember when mine where freaking out... the wires had fused themselves together behind one of the retainer clips that the wires run thru...

i had the same problem and it turned out i put the bulb in backwards

If you put an 1157 bulb in place of a 2057,the filaments are reversed,and the brake light filament lights up instead of the "dim" one for the running lights..if the bulb is correct,check the wiring harness as already suggested--pay extra close attention to any trailer light plugs,a lot of problems with the tailights originate in a faulty or coroded trailer plug socket,or where the harness was spliced to install one...

Try unplugging the big connector on the underside of the steering column. The brakes/turn signals/hazards all run through the turn signal switch. I had some really weird stuff going on when mine went out.
