Wanted Radio for 1992 Blazer wanted

Sorry to be a nudge, but I have no idea what a "din" is.

GM Parts East list the item as part#169571, usage K105(16) looks like it was used in the 92 to 94 models. Unaavailable, of course. Should have kept the darn thing when it failed years ago.
Din size is regular size radio

Din the unit they measure the height of the radio with.
1 is a standard radio.
1.5 was commonly used in 90's gm.
2 or double din common these days for fancy radio with GPS and stuff

Well, interesting. Thanks for the primer in car audio! I'm going to guess (after doing a bit more reading about din) it would be at least a 1.5 as the unit is square. Of course the '92 predates GPS, CD players or any other fancy doodads. (In fact Intrepid's vanity plate proudly declares "ANALOG" since the most advanced computer on her is the engine control module!). The Kenwood the audio shop dropped in wasn't installed in the same space as the original radio - they used an adaptor and installed it under the center dash vents. That leads me to believe the original radio was a peculiar size to begin with.

I just figured if someone was parting out a '92 to '94 K5 and it had an original working radio in the dash, it would more than likely fit.

Cheers,
B

Pretty sure this is a "No DIN" as it had a remote head unit wired to a main unit lower in the dash. Same as 88-94 full size pickups.

Are you trying to return this to stock appearance? Or has your aftermarket Kenwood unit failed? The aftermarket has a much nicer selection concerning sound and options such as bluetooth, hands free calling and expand-ability.

That's the ticket! Thanks for the photo, PoorBoyK5! I foolishly replaced the failed radio some years ago and was working from my memory. The resto shop that has my girl is going to come up with some options, but I thought I'd see what I could find on this forum. Should have kept the dang thing and tried to fix it, huh?
