yeah right, never heard of anyone having a factory 4 bolt 327..especially a SJ block. They have never been documented.
I would like to see the milling marks in the block for the caps...this is the kind of stuff Corvette numbers nuts pick apart.

at the end:

"try to find another one for sale. youre not gonna find it."

Lol and small journal at that... The large journal was GMs first improvement towards the bottom end. That scenario wouldnt even make sense.

I'll bet it's a small journal 4 bolt 302 "MO" block.

Thats what i was thinking, weren't all the early 302's small journal??

i don't know alot about these engines , but I have 283 crank and a small journal 327 block and some day I'd like to build one to see what its like.

I wouldn't doubt GM made a few 327's with 4 bolt mains, the block is the same as early 350's (though I think they were all large journals after 1968 except the 302).....its possible to create a 4 bolt 327 using the 350 block and a 307 crank, seen that done many times...

A 327 or 283 doesn't have much low end torque due to the short stroke, but they can rev like a buzz saw and not toss rods due to that too...you need low gears to get the engine up into its power band,or else it'll be doggy...in a way I feel the 327 is over-rated by purists, seems they think they are rare and made of gold when its time to sell one....I'd rather have a 350 or 400 SB myself...

If it's a DZ engine block with a VIN it could be worth a lot more then he thinks it is.

The 302 was an "MO" in 1967 and 1968 and were small journal engines, the "DZ" was 1969 only and was a large journal engine.

Ah, thanks for the info. If it has a VIN and can be match to some rare 67 302 Camaro it could be a nice find.

I tend to agree and go one further and say that the 400 is the only stock small block worth building. BUT I still thing it woild be cool to build a 302 and stick it in something other then a cowmaro , something light like a early nova, vega ect with a close ratio 4-speed and some deeeeeeeeeep rear end gears and have some fun before the bottom end and/or valve train grenaded in spectacular fashion!!

Now that's going out with style!! :haha:

Ah, I got here too late to see what he was selling. The link says that it has been flagged for removal.

its as the thread title says...rare rare rare....you'll never find another one because they are so rare, and he had one!
