Rat Rod style K5?

i wonder what the legality of that is in california

I don't know...

About 15 years ago I knew someone who had a wrecked car and he could run it without a hood.. But I think he had to have the fenders on it.. How do those hotrodders get away with it I wonder though?

You should chop that front window frame too. :D

454 with big headers going into dual exhaust coming right out the side, dumping before the rear tires.

That would look really cool.. it would help fill out all that space in the engine compartment too.
 
you know narrowing the front and trimming the fenders up to the body line would give it that rod look. with the open sides narrow grill and maybe those dune buggy lights ( the ones that look like big KC lights ). add outside the frame headers to side pipes. and for a 4wd you could regear to compensate for big-n-littles like the rock rod in one of the 4x4 mags recently. you dont nessisarily have to use red wheels grey or white works too or a flat yellow or turquose. once you narrow your front buy an aftermaket tube grill and cut it in half mount the halves turned on end side by side (could use the chrome but id use the black) for the vertical grill old rods have. use your imagination, its very possible. i also though "emphazima rat" would be the perfect name if you keep the oil burner. as for whit walls i wouldnt paint them just buy tires with the white letters i think that would sufice. or use a white tire marker and color the letters already there. but upmostly i wanna see pics! rat rods are my second passion after 4x4's.
