when i put in the clutch or let off the gas at higher speeds - 35 mph or greater - i get a loud rattling, not so much grinding, noise coming from my tranny / tcase.

any ideas?

Mine does this also, I was thinking it might be the input bearing on the tranny or at least that's what I was told when I asked IIRC. She's a trailer queen now and never get's above 25 MPH, problem solved :)

It could also be a driveline issue vibrating through your tranny, transfer case?

To be honest, i do not know, but here is what I woudl check.

Cross memeber

4 bolts on the bell housing

SM to NP adapter

Did you trim the hole for the shifter big enough and is the shifter itself causing the rattling (the linkage on mine makes a crap load of noise)

i have the exact same problem. i have a 465/205 setup too. mines gotten worse though, its doing it now even when you don;t let off the gas. all i have to do is be in mid RPM range and the rattle is loud as hell. if any one has any more ideas i'd appreciate it to.

Mine does it as well. From what I have heard it is primarily caused by driveline vibrations. My guess is none of you with this problem have CV shafts in the rear and that would probably fix your problem. That's what I am hoping anyway.

Mine also has one he!! of a vibration on coast, but get this, only in 2wd. Currently lookin for a fixed yoke or a SLE to solve this problem.
