I have an 84 K30 CC. Im putting on a 4" lift weds, and was curious if I need to modify the rear Proportioning valve height sensor for 4" lift. If so Can I bypass it, or?? Any help would be great.

Thanks

Well you can adjust it to compensate for the height difference, but I would just disconnect the lever and leave the valve at ride height setting and wrap it with electric tape to keep it from changing.
I am assuming if you are putting the lift, you are going to use it as much for hauling like a K30 would normally be, so that would be a safe thing to do.

most by now are junk or leaking.

bypass it and blead the brakes and drive it.

if you take the rod off and get the clocking of the shaft off it will never be right again.

great idea but didnt realy work in the end.

and 4" lift or more on k30 watch the lower shock mount on the rear axle to shock body clearence to axle tube. i had to cut and reweld mine to make the shock bolt up with out hitting the axle tube.

Great thanks! I guess I will just remove. Will I have any issues with it removed as far as braking proportion?

I do tow with it but, I dont think that will make a difference when removed.

that was for rear adjust only. stock valve still up front for bias.

most say much better braking after bypassed also.

My suburban k2500 had a 4" lift on it when I bought it and every thing seems to be fine the breaks work great evenwhen I am pulling a trailer, it doesnt look like they changed anything on the valve.
