If you got a 12 put it in, otherwise go for a 14

aahh i see well got out there at about 9:30 or so this morning got the axles out my left side is kinda chewed i think its usable my dad thinks it should be good for another atleast (hopefully) 30 or 40,000 or at elast till i can afford to put a 14 bolt under it :D also my pinion seams to have some slack im gonna have my dad take a gander at it.

Exactly what I was talking about. If the bearings bad, then most likeely the axle is bad, I see it everyday. Its pitted right? Try and sand it up with some emory cloth, if it doesnt get better, it needs replaced. Have a pic of how bad it is?

I have seen people in the same boat as you before. Are you running stock tires? Then id replace the axle and leave it for now, axles are inexpensive. If you want to upgrade and are going to (or do) run larger tires you can get a 14 bolt and either get 8 to 6 lug adapters or get the hubs drilled for 6 lug, as I have done before for a tahoe.
