I've got most of the interior stripped down and I'm trying to utilizing the dead space. Putting tow straps inside the rim of the spare tire, that kind of stuff. So I would like to use the space over the wheel wells and I'm wondering if anyone has used those wheel well truck boxes in a Blazer or Suburban. I say blazer or suburban because of the rear seat and possible interference there. I have to replace my wheel well panels anyways, so it's most likely going to be 1/4" underlayment attached with thumb screws or some sort of truck box. Just thinking of putting stuff in there that you don't use very often but really should carry with you.

Actually been searching for same ideas. In the process of bedlining the interior and removed the side panels. I don’t think I’ll put them back on. Would like storage on the sides to free up cargo area.

There is some one here with a burb. Has redone his spare well into a box. He put 2 batteries, and an inverter.
Iirc he is in the south east region. Had some post using the burb to clean up his parents? property after a hurricane in Florida?

I haven't actually measured one of those truck bed boxes, however I would think that they are too long because of the length available in an actual truck bed. I have ideas of how I would like to get something built for mine, but I want to integrate a rack for my toolbox so that I can still take it out closer to where I am working, or at least onto the tailgate for easier access. As mine is currently in the left rear, I have an ammo can bolted in so that it is a base for part of the toolbox. Then a ratchet strap holding it to the side. I cut off the interior panel to use the space and installed eye bolts for tie downs.
The right side gets complicated by the filler neck cover. You will probably always have some dead space there. I put spare hose behind the interior panel and left the screws out by the tailgate. Bow it open after I move things out of the way.

One of those deck top drawers would be nice, however it blocks access to the door for my fuel pump.

I believe custom made is the only option.

I always wanted one of those 4'x4' metal drawer thingys, really cool but just they just cost too much for something that doesn't earn money.

I have an aluminum chest that's about 18"x18"x36" mounted behind my rear seat, it works great and forces me to streamline what I pack but I do wish it was a little bigger.

Do you have a link for this guy? or DIY?
It was on a Toyota Tacoma site I found when searching for rear storage ideas.
he just said he made it himself. Pretty good skills.
after debating all weekend I’m leaning toward that truxedo soft bag or something like it. Looks like something that can be taken out easily if I needed the extra room too. Also looking at ideas on where to mount some 6x9s now that I removed my side panels. Somewhere they would be out of the way and a clean look. I just finished my raptor liner and wanna make everything kinda weather proof

Just got a couple of these. We'll see how well they are. Out of the box they are built well enough. I got one green for the truck and one red for us people. Top pack can detach as a backpack in case you have to hoof it out. I will get it installed-ish this week and let everyone know how it works out.

I need something durable and locks, as car break-ins in California happen more than rain and weekends.

If you unscrew the standoffs, its a much nicer fit. The front bag is empty but it does add a cup holder for the back seat. I need to reorganize, but I think these will work. At least for now.
