Rebuilding a Carb for "offroad"

I was reading somewhere that you can rebuild a carb to be friendlier for offroad use. I don't remember exactly how so don't flame me for this put I believe it said something about changing the jets, etc. And this would somehow make it more possible to run on inclines etc. Also I was told that an electric fuel pump would be better over a manual. What do you guys have to say about this? I'm thinking it may be a more affordable option right now over a truck avenger that I was looking at.

What kind of carb are you talking about? If you already have the stock Q-jet you dont have to do a thing. Q-Jets run great offroad and dont need modification.

The best way to set up a carubretor for off road is to install a Q-Jet and go.

or just go propane...
granted if your driving it around town a 10 gallon tank gets really old...
