Local guy is parting out his k30 and I want the sliding back glass, how easy is it to remove? He says you can just cut the seal with a razor and pop it out, true? I'm assuming all the years will interchange, he's got a 79 I have an 87

They will interchange between years. You need to see what ind of slider, the one in my 86 didn`t have a frame at the ends, just the gasket. The repl one I got has a full frame. The one I had with out the frame had a gasket with a chrome strip just like the windshield, I broke it trying to get it out. The other one I have has a 1 pc gasket with no strip. I wouldn`t cut the gasket, as I would want to re use it.

Yeah my truck just has window all the way to gasket (but no chrome), the slider has a frame around it then it looks like about an inch of gasket. I kinda figured the slider gasket would be pretty brittle and would get damaged trying to remove it. If I wanted to try and save the gasket I'm sure there's some sort of tool out there to take the windows out with...?
