removing the locks on console and glove compartment

    how in the *&"#% do I remove the locks from the console and glove compartment? bought new console and I need to switch the locks from my old console.

    I know on the glove box lock, there is a little square hole on the inside of the door on the lock that you have to put something in(small like a paper clip or awl) to depress the pin and then the lock just pulls apart...as for the console, I have no idea, my burb doesn't have a console but it might come apart in the same manner.

    Also once they are in does anybody know how to tighten them, I know the striker is adjustable but what about the lock cylinder, when the glovebox is open it just spins and spins making closing a pain (on both the 78 and 80).

    before you put the tumbler back in, the 2 parts screw together. Kinda hard to do, but it can be done. I just had to do it a few weeks ago on my glove box door.
