I'd like to see what upgraded seat projects you guys have done. I'm considering upgrading my factory seats with something out of a 99-06 Chevy truck/Tahoe/Burb. I'd like to hear from you guys and see some pictures if possible.

There is a couple pretty good write ups already. I think I searched new model seats or something like that.

Search for threads under my user name. I did a write up with pics a while back. Would post a link but I'm on my phone.

3MAX,
Where are you exactly in North Alabama. I'm in Athens, would love to see you seat setup. Looking to do something like it.. Does your rear seats have the child seat anchors in them?

I put seats in out of a 2006 Silverado. I chose these seats for a variety of reasons:

*I wanted the integrated seatbelts as i thought it was a cleaner set-up plus I was/am doing a interior color change.

*They had a built-in armrest. Console side only.

*thought they would be comfy

*late model fabric easily obtainable to reupholster rear seat to match

Drawbacks and things to consider:
*they are wider than stock. This was only an issue because i have the widest console from Tuffy. If i had to do it again, i would get the size down.

*they are deep. I had space under the factory seats for a small tuffy box, i lost that space.

*they are deep #2. There wasn't much room to fab brackets like i would like. I had to weld directly to the new seat frame to create brackets that would bolt to the factory 4 holes. I did add two more bolts for for peace of mind to compensate for the integral seatbelt.

*i wanted dual armrests but could't find any without buil in air bags

*while they fold forward somewhat, they don't slide forward on pass which makes rear seat ingress and egress difficult.

I think for a trail vehicle, i would probably choose a mastercraft seat, especially since they now, i believe, have some reclining models. I try and use my truck for camping and trips where i felt a comfortable seat would be paramount.
