the best dog ive ever owned had to be put down today... his name was Elvis' early bird, or Earl as we called him... he was a 9yr old red bloodhound... huge dog, 36" at the shoulders and 145lbs, his ears were 26" tip to tip. anyway he had a problem with his stomach that only happens to BIG dogs and horses. we got him when he was about 1yr old from some good friends. he was by far the bast damn dog ive ever had, funny, always happy, nothing got this dog down... my uncle died a month ago of cancer and it didnt phase me, but this morning i cred like a little girl when my dad told me... our other bloodhound hasnt sat down since, hes walking around the yard trying to find earl. theyve been together for about 6yrs. god damn im crying just trying to write this. we're burying him tomorrow in the back yard at my parent's place next to the other dogs we',ve lost... EDIT: we brought him home from the vet and buried him last night... hes in the backyard next to the other dogs we've lost... our other bloodhound, rosco had been acting funny since we too Earl to the vet's. when we brought earl home he wouldnt come closer than about 50ft from where were burying him, once he saw us lower earl into the ground he turned around, walked away and hasnt gone into the back yard since... ive never had such a hard time losing a pet like this... there was something about that dog, he'll never be replaced. sorry for the sob story guys... just needed to get it out.
