everything all sorted out, cost $550 in total towing between the two trucks and the trailer the Ford was on. Ah well... :smirk:

Something in the trans literally broke, absolutely no warning, was stopped at a stoplight, went to take of, easy as i usually do, it lurched alittle like a rear brake was hanging up or something, didn't even hear any bangs, clunks or nothing, then all of the sudden it sounded like gears skipping across each other, or say a sound like the slip yoke spinning on the output shaft. Sounds similar to when you are not totally stopped and accidentally put it in park.

It does it in neutral while being pushed backwards even with engine off, doesn't do it in forward unless you try to drive it.

Gonna tear into it this week i guess and see what broke.

Sucks, as this thing was just rebuilt about 3 years ago, but was not driven hard, and may not even have 40k on it yet.

I wish I knew who rebuilt the K5's 700 before I bought it . That damn things been beat on and I plan to bolt it back in and use it until its dead . nine years and over 100K that I put on it ( god know how many crawling trips )
