I've found a place to stay for night 1, but I was hoping that any of you that happen to live along my route would be willing to provide me with your phone #s just in case I run into trouble or need a hand. My route is as follows:

I5 from Redding to Portland

I84 from Portland to Hermiston

I82/395/I90 from Hermiston to Coeur D'Alene

95 from Coeur D'Alene to the border

Well, I took the plunge and am flying down to California to pick up a truck and drive it 1000 miles home to Canmore. The halfway point of my trip is somewhere between Portland, Oregon and Richland/Kenniwick, Washington.

Is anyone in that area brave enough to lend a couch to the Can Man for the night of June 2nd? I should be in the area between 9 and 10 PM, and will bring beer.:D

wish i could have gone to cam's pad, but watching the thunder chickens do their thing was cool to.
 
Why aren't ya driving straight through? I just did a bit over 900 miles on Saturday, towing a 17 foot boat behind the Sub. Even had to stop and change a flat, buy two new trailer tires, and replace a tail light that the blown tire busted. All while listening to the wife and kids complain. :cool1: A 13.5 hour trip turned into about 17 hours with all the delays. :(

I have to be at the Calgary airport at 4 AM. By 10 PM that night I don't think I'll be able to keep my eyes open anymore. I'd hate to wreck a new truck on the first day........:doah:

I hear ya I left Pcola Florida at 0930 Friday and was in my house in San Diego by 1830 on Saturday. 15 Hours the first day and 12.5 the second day. About midnight in the Texas desert I was hurting on that first day. Hope you find a place to hang your hat, I would offer but I am on the wrong end of your journey:( .

Drive safe, watch out for roadkill. Might be a free burger along the road. :D Take some pictures for chrisakes.
