Rochester carb not pulling fuel

The orange vacuum line is for the efe valve on passenger side exhaust manifold.
This efe valve is often rusted mobile. Hopefully open.
The finger point is egr valve, if no emissions testing you can leave unplugged.
Front driver side is evap/charcoal canister. One 1/4" hose goes to metal fuel to tank for vapor collection. The one you are holding that has broken plastic nipple in it, went to a thermal vacuum switch on the intake coolant passage or t stat housing.

You are the man. Thanks again Wes. I actually have a reference vehicle an 83 c20. But believe it or not the c20 is also on the property (not mine) I asked if I could look at it for the vacuum lines, I popped the hood, and the entire engine had been infested by mice and all the vacuum tubes were useless to look at.

In the Bay Area, Morgan hill if your in the area let me know.
It's been a while since I have been there, used to be there everyday picking up nursery plants from Kawahara nursery.
I am up by Sacramento area in Lincoln

Nobody has said it yet, so I have to. CARBS DON'T PULL FUEL. Yes, with gravity they can meter, but any suction is way less than gravity.

I’m not usually that guy but, have to disagree man. They use a Venturi effect that creates suction and draws fuel through primaries…

Sounds like it pulls fuel through using a Venturi effect. But if you want to pull random jabs then I’ll be that guy lol. Have a good one

The venturi effect pulls fuel from the bowl, but does not get the fuel into the bowl. If you're expecting the carb to pull the fuel from the tank (not gravity or a pump), you'll be disappointed.

That we can both agree, no fuel pump, no fuel go.

I replaced everything fuel related on the K5 and rebuilt the qjet. The fuel lines were rusting inside out, the fuel hose was cracked at the fuel tank, the fuel pump was not working and the carb was full of grim. It took some work to tune the carb. I disassembled the carb and had it ultrasound cleaned. I'm now fine tuning the carb checking the plugs for lean or rich conditions. Also a shop put in helicoil threads since I damaged the inlet threads on the carb. oops. With vehicles this age I think it is important to replace everything. The rubber fuel lines in the back of the tank were original to the K5. A safety hazard.
