I'm replacing the cam in my newly aquired engine and I need new push rods, retainers and possibly even springs. Are these the same for all 350's? Its older then '87 if that helps at all.

If you need new push rods, then you need new springs for sure.

No, all valve springs are not the same (diff. diameters and stiffnesses for racing) and there are aftermarket locks that won't fit stock valves. What year is the engine? If it is 74 or later, then the exhaust valves have rotators on them.

Stock SBC push rods are the same length, but again, there are aftermarket jobs that are different lengths (for different type lifters and for decked head and block surfaces)

Just tell the parts guy what you've got, and take the old parts in there with you.
