Does this both you guys, I noticed theres a lot of people on here that have ran the tube right behind their head

I was thinking about cutting it out on my truck but it looks like a lot of people are running them this way

I wouldn't think it's an issue unless your head is higher than the headrest.

The top of the head rest goes to the middle of my head

Yeah, that might be kind of close. "Short" seats or are you tall? If tall then maybe add bar padding and go with it since average/shorter folks wouldn't have that problem.

I've got a +3" seat

I'm 6'2

What I might do is order a +6" seat, thats why I only ordered one initially

I don't like how much lay back suspension seats have, I'll have to get used to it though. I like when seats are closer to 80*

Mine is like this too but my head is right in the correct location in my Mastercraft seats. top of my head is only an inch or so above the top of the seat. And my seat is not contacting the tube. There is space between the tube and seat head rest.

Sat in my truck for awhile moving the seat around

I ended up moving the cross tube forward a bit and the seat sitting on the floor a little more straight up and it ended up making me no able to hit my head on the tube

Thats what I do, I sit in the truck and just move my head around alot see where its going to hit or not.

I ended up using 1" tube right there just small enough to clear everything as far as my head goes.

I did the same exact thing. Actually had to redo some of mine to keep the tubing as tight as possible to the cab, and change some out to 1".

To answer the original question, I wouldn't be comfortable with that. In an aggressive roll that bar could do more damage than good.

Yeah, I definitely plan to get some sort of helmet

I looked at the alternative and it would basically just mean the tube is to the right side of my head instead of behind it.

I think I've got it so I can't hit my head if I'm strapped in though

If it was me I would run two tubes from the center top of the main hoop to the bottom sides of the main hoop as a triangle. Then a small horizontal tube just below where the shoulder belts go through the seat over to side of the main hoop.
