RootBreaker finally hit the mud... movies pg 2
Ok so we went out today... Still got stuff to work out... but the truck didnt let me down..
I met up with 3 guys from work... 2 driving and one as a camera man co-pilot.. which was good because I was in such a rush I left the camcorder and video camera at my house!!!!
So he will be providing movies and pics this week...
Vehicles:
Jeep - stock 4.0 NEW
Jeep - stock 4.0 NEW - leveling kit / rear bumper with hi lift and tire mount (nice)
RootBreaker - we all know about this one
Ok so these new jeeps were doing good.. hittin puddles and the sort.. as I was doing it all in 2wd... bit bumpy... well the water holes were getting bigger and bigger.. to the point of them going around them... I still attacked the puddles in 2wd... We get to a point where the trail turns left... I was in the back.. I could see the rear of the first jeep..... as I was behind the second one... well I saw the brakes get released and he floors it... there was trees in my way and I was figuring that he was going to attack the hole.... well my eyes panned to the left through the trees and thicket to where I suspected he would have come out but I didnt see him.... well the jeeper in front of me gets out with this look... so I get out.....DOH!!!! he water logged it... he opens the door and yells... IM TAKING IN WATER... I returned and said... what you want to be pulled out???? Ok so I was nice... I brought my truck up.... walked into the water to my knees and hooked onto him and pulled him out....
We took the drenched air cleaner out and he cranked it over... SO MUCH GUNK came out... was kinda funny..... he kept cranking and taking a break.. then cranking... and finally she wanted to start... once started I told him to back it up as it was my turn... I KNEW THEY WOULDNT BE ABLE TO PULL ME OUT... but what the Hell I didnt go back there to watch them....
So I lined up... put it in 4 low.... 1st gear (Not Low so technically 2nd gear) and gave it hell... Man .. what he got stuck in was not that deep at that point... I went in and my tube bumper went under... I kept on the throttle and got through the other side... the camera man cought this on video as he walked around it to get me coming at him.... He said it was a tsunami when I went through....So I turned around to go back through as there was no way around it.....for them of course ...
camera man went and got the digital camera and stood with the group to get me coming back.... I hammered it back in... and I laid onto it but for some reason... the truck died.... not too sure why and we didnt get this on film... but he took a few pics... so here I am with steam coming out of everywhere (he said it is a nice pic) and I cranked it over.. once started I dropped the clutch and hammered it and got out.... PHEW!!!!!!
so we went around some more through other trails.... we found an area where we could flex to take pics... All I can say is my truck flexes like a motha!!!!
I pulled my front right tire onto a incline and had my truck teatering... so I got out and looked.. my front right tire was wedged in so far it was hitting the cab!!!!! and the top of the fender well... so I have more to cut
the drivers side was WAAAAAY low.. just hanging there... so I am pleased...
p.s. dont forget I will have more pics and some movies later...
here is my night shots as I just.. and mean just got home..... truck is fricken frozen as a gigantic ice sickle.... plus a quick night shot movie to show some of the gumbo....
also I got the snorkel hooked up and it did good.. not totally waterproof yet.. I will finish that up and take some pics..... works good.... but not perfect....
