Running new trannsmission cooling lines...

Is this even possible without lifting the engine up? These things are about four feet long and the one crossmember that I see would help if it were removed is riveted in. Any ideas out there?
 
Straighten out an old metal hanger, bend the hanger in the manner in which you want your lines to run. Bend lines roughly like the hanger. Or call it an excuse to go to pick-n-pull and rob the prebent lines. Avoid rubber hose if at all possible.
 
If you have to you could use compression fittings. Start at the radiator (or transmission...whichever you think is easier), get it bent and in place the best you can. The start at the other end and work toward the middle. It's alot easier to snake a short piece of line around the crossmember than the entire length.
 
I think I'm just going to replace the section that got mangled so time ago when I got the truck into a pretty hard flex and wacked the lines with the zert on the front driveline. I know...lucky to get out of the woods that day. I had to cut a section off with a tube cutter and replace it with hydraulic hose and hold that on with hose clamps just to get her back home. Infact it worked so well that I haven't permanently fixed her till now. I'm thinking a good tube flair fitting in a straight section is a permanent fix, and I'll run the steel lines right up to the transmission.

The time is right since I'm planning a thousand mile round trip to Vegas and don't want any surprises. I'm having new oil cooling lines made up next week.
 
I just used steel braided #6 hydraulic hose with aeroquip hose ends,,,put the proper fittings in the transmission case,,ran them up to my remote filter and aux. cooler and called it done...:D
