Have knocked out a few small tasks this week.
While I don’t particularly listen to music all that often while driving as I prefer to listen to the 6.5 sing, my boys LOVE music and love to have “dance parties”. So, for the sake of more enjoyable road trips ….
This was also an experiment. Truthfully, I appreciate a little bass in my music, and in my last burb I had a nice sub box that housed a couple of 12s. But with this burb, I wasn’t interested in giving up space for the sake of extra bass. So when I discovered these compact subs, I had to try it out. At only 3” high, this 10” fits perfectly under the 2nd row and adds just the right amount of low end thump. There’s a good chance I may relocate down the road, so I kept the extra length of cable wrapped up under the seats as well.
Also, turns out the 40” spare, steel tire rack, and steel roof rack add a bunch of weight to the tail of the truck, weight that wasn’t planned for when I had ORD build the springs. So the truck has conjured a bit of a squat that’s a bit of an eye sore to me. Don’t hate - my immediate simple fix is a pair of 1” blocks beneath the ORD zero rates.
Personally, I really dislike this idea of stacking the blocks with the zero rates and 1/4” spacer, even though the leaf pack center pin holds the zero rates and 1/4 to the springs and the blocks have their own center pin and locating hole. It should be good for highway driving, but I doubt I’ll do much off-roading with this set up.
This is also an experiment, to see if 1” of lift in the rear levels out the truck. The endgame plan is to swap the factory shackle hangers and 6” ORD shackles to ORD’s HD hangers and Xtreme shackles. According to them, this setup with my existing springs will add 1” of lift to the tail of the truck. I’ll get to this after I get the turbo done next month, so this 1” block is short term, but it does seem to level the truck pretty good ….

Minimal difference, but just enough.
That’s all for now. Going camping this weekend so y’all will finally get a glimpse of my rooftop wrap around porch ….
