Yesterday I happened to notice a older Blazer sitting on a side street. Being curious I made the block to take a closer look. At first glance I saw a '76-'79 Blazer in terrible shape, three flat tires, dirty and generally in very bad shape. But as I passed I looked down at the diff's and there sits a 14b rear and a d60 front. I have never seen a d60 up close, so I made another slow pass to take a closer look. The work looked good, 6" lift well put together, just very dirty, and rusting. I told my son about it, so naturally he had to go look. He proceeded up the the front door of the house and talked to the owner. The owner is very proud of his old beast, but hasn't moved it in 6 yrs, but starts the balanced and blueprinted 350 once a month. According to the owner, the rear is a 14b, 4.56 gears with a locker, the front is a d60, 4.56 gears, NP 205 t'case, turbo 400 trans. He claimed the enginge is really something but couldn't begin to tell him all the things that had been done to it. The body and interior may not be salavageable, and the guy said he had a lot of time and money in the Blazer, $4,500. firm. We left thinking, DAMN what a waste.
