The trans aren't made anymore so everything internal is aftermarket or replacement from online shops. You can get the lube at the dealership though.

Check out nv4500.com and also quad4x4.com , they seem to have most anything you can want or need for a nv4500. What year trans did you get, early or a late model?

Its an early one with the lower gearset. It does come with a newer style top cover as well as the original. The guy told me they had problems with the top cover wearing and causing shifting problems, but he's not sure on the 5th gear problem? My local dealer told me to bring it in with the top cover off and the rear housing removed and they will check the torque on the 5th gear nut.
