SAS swap \'bible\'???
OK, I've got a chance to buy a fairly easy repair '98 3/4 ton (8 lug). The IFS is POOCHED and the frame has some damage on the very front pass. side(I'm assuming that some has carried towards the rear). IF the frame is somewhat "repairable", I get a Vortec 454, 4L80E and a decent ext. cab truck for cheap. I want a new powertrain and truck, but would prefer a solid axle.
The leaf spring swap seems pretty simple, has anyone done a 4 link? That would/could help with how much time I need to put into the frame.
