score! got a 1/2 TOP!..

or you could get a window which wasn't as wide as the wheel wells. or you could snag the slider windows out of the back of a pick up at the wrecking yard and use that.

i think i have a perfect idea, when i get a picture or some sort of thing made up i`ll show ya

i think now i`m actually leaning towards making like a soft top, like the pickup style one, except make it the length needed, and put in a plastic window, so i wouldnt necessarily have to worry about the back seat as much, and it would allow me to take it off, having the back part of the bed open....any suggestions?

slant top?? i probably no what it is, just having a little brain fart

ive seen several pics of the slant top on a k5, and the back seats were usable. dont remember where i saw it tho. looked pretty good

Canvas going from the top of the roof down too the tailgate, like certain military humvees. Slant back on those, I guess since this is a removable top it would be a slant top. :)

so with the 1/2 top, it would go from the back of that to the tailgate?

or i was thinking of just making it go down the back of the cap, and on the bed to the tailgate...

anyone care to chop a pic to see what it would look like?

now i`m thinking something like this, with the black being the soft top

:p: :p: you like the idea though?

jus sell it to me :)

can any one give me any advice on making the soft top, or do they make one that i could modify??how would i seal it?

After I made my own 1/2 top out of the front and rear of a factory hardtop, I used the front portion of the same year p/u bed as the wall (with some modifications) and then used a Bestop Tigertop soft top window for my rear window. I drilled some snaps into the inside of the 1/2 top and then attached some snaps to the soft top back window. If I would do it over again, I would use velcro to attach the window to the 1/2 top. It would have made it easier to "rip" down when I wanted the back window open. I have since removed my 1/2 top cause it just wasn't a Jimmy anymore and I wanted to use the back seat again. I don't have pics at the moment but if there are enough interested people I can post pics of my 1/2 creation.

Go to a place that makes boat canvas tops. They can custom make anything, any color, any strength, with a window pretty cheap.

how much is pretty cheap?

cant decide what to do, you think i should just make a wall, then have the boat shop make a peice of canvas with a window in it for the back window, or just use the lexan and make it slide inside the wall? and turn it into a little short bed pick up?

the cheapest of the bunch will prob be the lexan window... or plexy whatever u choose, i think a boat company one would cost few hundred.
