Just about to weld in my tabs for the front seat belts. My thinking has always been double shear, but now that I'm about to do it, I'm thinking single. :dunno:

It's not like you are going to be able to weld in between the two tabs anyways. I just thought I had always seen the buggies go for double on pirate, now I'm not sure...

Thoughts? ... Go. :D

Damn it. Those won't work on my roundy round tube.

Haha, thanks for the text back. :waytogo:

always done mine in single, other than making sure you have them at the right angle for when you buckle in, I dont see an issue with single.

double sheer would allow the strap to move more freely but still be as strong. I dont think you will have issues wither way.

edit- why not run the laps to the side of you? I know this may not be the propper racing spec, but ive always ran them the closest I could to me and always felt comfertable.

Cool. Thanks man. I just sent Eric a pic and I'm good to go.

Just didn't want to kill any nuns if my belt was in single, ya know. :haha:

I cut mine from the end of square tube and cut them so they are single shear but 90s go around the tube a little.

I went double on mine.

I mounted and welded one to the tube. This allowed me to weld it 100% around. Then I took a piece of metal .010 thicker than the belt tab and sandwiched it between the welded piece and my second tab. Then I welded the second tab to the tube on the three sides you can get to. Pulled the fixture piece and started on the next pair.

Thanks Wade. :waytogo:

I ended up in single. Kinda glad I did In the end. With the way my back tubes bend up towards the center console section, it was pretty tight.

And let's be honest, this should be fine for the weekend beer runs to the 7-11 with the occasional trip to the mall. :pimp:

Here is what I ended up with.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Those will due. Have done a bunch like that. Even in desert race cars. Of. Ourse thay were running in low HP classes.
