So I decided to go out and test my new booty fabbed bumpstops. Got the right front up on a ledge and the wheel was wanting to turn hard right. I didn't agree upon my trucks chosen path so I pushed the wheel left. Hard. Real hard. Lemme just say that it's somewhat of a challenge to get the blazer home with no steering. Couldn't have done it without Leper and CJ. Thanks again guys!

So, besides ram assist or cryo treating the shaft, what can I do to prevent this from happening again?

When the truck wants to go right you say yes mam :haha: :haha:

Damn!!!!! Whooda Thunkit Would Break At The Sector Shaft. I Figured That Would Be The Strong Point.

I've heard of it happening, but I didn't think that I was turning it hard enough to bust it.

A better pic of how the shaft twisted and snapped....

And the pitman arm wasnt loose at all???

Just did a complete nut and bolt check yesterday. One thing that had always concerned me was how the steering arm never would go even close to all the way to the top of the sector shaft. Even using a 3 foot bar to torque it down didn't get past about halfway up the shaft. Maybe the 3 foot cheater bar and me yankin on it with all my might weakened it....

Hydro assist. It takes a ton of stress off the sector shaft and gets the wheels pointed where you want them.

Sell me your truck for 500.00. I will be nicer to it, and you will never break anything on it again. lol :haha:

Put a BubbaBuilt ram on it and you will have no worries. :pimp:

BTW my wife wants to know if you liked the spaghetti. :p:

Oh, and on another note. You went wheelin by yourself, without a cellphone. You are lucky to still have all of your truck at home now.
