I was just curious, i was going to attempt the shackle flip through the hanger method tomorrow, and was wondering if the hanger needs to be relocated further back or forward, or is it fine where it sits.

I have seen some others pics, and see new bolts installed holding the hanger in place.

What am i in for, i have material already for reinforcing the hanger after cutting out the center, no biggie there.
Mainly just curious about the location of the hanger.

nope no need to move the hanger

I pulled these off a pickup frame, stock location, they left about 1/4" at the corners then reinforced it with plate and angle

Hey 4xcrazy,

I'm just planing on buying a pair of new front hangers for the rear of a 2wd and replaceing my stock rear hangers on the rear of my K-5. A guy @ Desert Rat said he bought his new @ Chevy for like $15.00....

Incidentally you may want to move the hanger towards the front a bit to give better flex. Here is what you get with the stock location.

and when you flex it...

If I had it to do over again I would relocate my hanger forward 1"-2".

they're discontinued. i already checked that when i wanted to put my 82 C10 back to stock. last time i checked about 6 months ago, there was 1 left in the country.

That is not the stock hanger. That is A front rear hanger off a 1 ton 2wd I think. There is a writeup about how I did the flip on my website in the 4x4 section...the link is in my sig. As for how it rides I haven't gotten to wheel it much as it's still in progress, but I ripped it around the cemetery a bit finding the biggest potholes I could and it is very smooth and flexy compared to my stock 86.
