Previous owner had a shift kit, he doesn't know which kit, installed when the tranny was rebuilt.. problem.. it shifts way too quick, especially into 3rd.. I was going to install an adjustable vacuum modulator (Kragen $16.99) on it.. would that be the best way to delay or can portions(which portion) of the shift kit be removed from the valve body to eliminate this problem.. or do I need to swap out the valve body.. Thanks..

In my experience with a TH400, = or- 5MPH was all I could manage to delay shifts with an adjustable modulator. The correct way to change the shift points is to modify the governor, and there ARE kits available for this.
