May 19th marks the second year of marraige for my wife and I. While cooking dinner last night she asked "how much is a lift kit for the blazer?" I replied with "around $2500." then she proceeds to say "I was thinking we should get a lift kit for our anniversary." I was so excited I said something about buying tires and she said " oh tires don't come with the lift? Never mind then" :doah: If only I had kept my mouth shut........

I guess I have a lot to learn. Don't worry guys the lift will be here soon

Next year :thumb:

Or just put the lift on and see how weird she thinks it looks with little tires

I could find a lift kit AND tires for $2500. :dunno:

I think we are definitely leaning towards "annoy" her to get what you want. In whatever form it may result in :haha:

That must be the most badass lift kit ever. I bet doing it yourself with off the shelf parts you could be done pretty close to the $2500 budget with wheels an tires. Unless you've got bigger more extreme plans.

I plan on doing it myself. I don't know if it's the most badass lift kit ever but I was thinking all new custom springs from ORD with Bilsteins new greasable shackles, brakelines, steering box brace, drop pitman arm and sway bar discos?

Sometimes, just getting the basics will get it going at least, get all the other fancy stuff later, get the springs, brake lines, steering arm and you should still have enough for the tires.

I bought a kit not a lot of people on here seem to like from Rough Country. I really don't think it rides as bad as they say, to remember them from their early days. Yes it was a bit harder, but they were lift springs, not preloaded.bent ones from the factory.

Only paid like $500 for everything on mine. Yes I'm also using blocks for the rear, been using them constantly with decent trail riding for the past 10 years now, still in there, nothing broke or missing.

I went with the cheapest way to at least get it lifted, and have been tinkering with other components a little a a time as I go.

Of course the past few years it's been sitting, so I haven't been able to upgrade much.

Just a thought though.

Oh ok. That makes more sense. The custom springs are about $800 a pair right?

Mine were $630+ shipping a while ago. So yah prolly around that. Plus shackles and buishings on top. I think I have over $900 in just the front leafs... Plus crossover, plus rear springs etc etc. It can hit $2500 pretty quick imo.

I was thinking it was an off the shelf kit. I can see how easily you could get to that point with custom stuff.

Maybe piece it together a little at a time?

Dueling is right. I don't think the front springs have changed in price yet. I'm I'm no hurry I lift it and I have the money. I'm just waiting for the right time to do it all at one time. I know once I have the lift, I'm gonna want axles too!

Yup! Then lockers, then bumpers, then you are bouncing your rig off of trees and then its a tube buggy.

thats the high dollar lift kit.....

you could get a good suspension system from Tough Country (NOT rough country) and tires and wheels for 2500 and have a lifted truck that will work great
