So I went the other day an bought a 1ton heep project and the dude just kept loadin junk in the truck and with metal prices bein what they are I was takin all he was given.Part of what he gave me was a turbo set up that he said was off a Pontiac.I've been around the block a few times but have'nt ever saw one of these. The manifold only has three ports on ea side but it has a chevy V8 firing order stamped on it and the turbo appears to accept a quadrajet carb.So does anybody know the original application???

Some one may possibly want it for a restoration. Other than that, junk.

That setup was the father or grandfather of the Grand National. Only made them for a couple years, 78-80 I think. Regals and Monte Carlo's were the only ones to get turbo'd I think. Should be worth a couple bucks on evil bay.....

Don't sandblast things that connect to oiled moving parts. I know regular manifolds have a plate riveted on the bottom. If you sand blast them you have to drill the plate off And clean them out. Sand blasting sand is very abrasive. Bad idea. Never buy an intake that may have been sandblasted.

I see your point. But, if care is taken, I'm sure that all the abrasive media can be removed. Besides, if That was mine, I'd take it apart anyway, just so I could clean up the insides a little better.

Seems my brother had a pontiac trans am with 301 turbo in it. Only reason I really remember it at all is he had removed the hood to work on something. Laid the hood next to the driveway in the grass. Mom comes home after work and decides for whatever reason to park next to the driveway in the grass. Drives right over the hood.

A buddy of mine that lives in Va had looked forever for a good CUCV hood and I had one.We hadnt much more than got it unloaded and somebody ran over it.

Is the carb for that kicking around anywhere?

No,I called and ask.:doah:

correct on the Pontiac 301....although a 4V would kick a turbo's ass in a drag race.
I worked at a Pontiac dealership in 80-81, and if I remember correctly in 80 there was an optional Turbo T/A pace car, with 4 wheel discs.

That thing would sell on a Pontiac website. I tried posting one but I didn't get it right. I'm sure google would put you onto one. My buddy is big into Pontiac and sells everything he comes up with quick there.
x2 on don't sandblast.
