Ya, manual hubs are great...they freeze up, break, are hard to spin, get smashed on stuff.

Good point. I almost lost my K5 to a fire a few years back when one hub wouldn't turn by hand. I have to admit my Warn standards haven't had a problem yet. I prefer not to have to unlock and lock them though and the CAD system sure is nice. These days I just leave my hubs locked on my K5...

You do have to get out of your truck when your CAD fails to engage and you're stuck because you don't have 4wd.

Congrats on missing the entire point of my post, either by stupidity or convenience, I can't tell if you just don't know any better or conveniently didn't get the entire idea of what I attempted to say. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Oh, I completely understood the meaning of your worthless post which was to try and point out a drawback to an axle you obviously don't understand. The funny part is you are the one that is not educated on the CAD system. I know for a fact you have no personall experience with a late model dodge and when you actually do I will take your comments seriously. Get to reading over at TDR.com. 2001.5's and later have a 1 piece CAD system that is very reliable, even the older 2 piece is also fairly reliable.....better than the early chevy design in the IFS trucks. Everything fails either from breakage or mechanical wear, lock out hubs are just as suseptable. You just don't want to except that a D60 under a new dodge is just as good or better than a standard chevy 60.
1. I don't have kingpins, you do. 1 point for you.
2. I don't have to mess with lock out hubs and track crap into my pickup, you do. 1 point for me.

A lock-out hub can catch on fire?

[/ QUOTE ]no, they don't. But they allow you to use 4wd which will let you escape the oncoming fire. (It's a short story)
