Shrunken Ned...

I know that..doesn't really matter if they do or not..I'm not driving propane for the fuel savings and mileage

its just like filling a big RVs propane tank...those things arn't removable. If they are removable (like forklift) then they can make you take them out...In Europe the LPG cars have actual fill door and caps just like gas cars...you drive up and fill up just like gas cept its propane..there's a camping world and several real propane places right around me..not to mention all the gas stations

Can you find places that will fill it with the tank in the vehicle? Most make me take them out.

I still think you need to call around and ask. The tank is great but some gas station attendants literally watch a 20 minute video if that and then they are qualified.

And seems like some stations don't have hoses that reach, etc. It's a PITA, the only thing I don't like about my propane setup.

I had lots of opportunities to get away from it and didn't though, it has some pros too.

I like the tank. Sounds like there could be some small disadvantages, but overall it sounds like you have a good plan.

so I got Ned back into the shop without having to air down the ORIs..which was great. I dropped the front tires down to nothing so the light bar would clear and backed him in.

Picked up one of these off Amazon and used it to air down the fronts.

It works great and just like they say. you can pull the valve core, release the air, stop the air, check the tire pressure at any point and put the valve core back in all with one hand.

tomorrow I'm cutting the fenders and putting in the new orbital. I might start on getting the back ready for the new tank.

Got the fenders cut back. fixed the wobble in my removable steering wheel. did some custom body work on the rear ammo box corner so that clears the tire now. Fixed one of the hood pins which was loose and rattling..permatex'd the threads and tightened the crap outs both sides. pulled off both valve covers and found 2 cut valve cover gaskets. stared at the valve covers and realized I hate them. So I ordered some new circle track ones from speedway. rebuild my heat exchanger, gonna throw that on and use it as a second transmission cooler. Got the back end completely cleared off in prep for the new propane tank. Gonna wait till I have the tank b4 I start cutting tube.

So did I miss what the final fix for the cooling system was? What did @ChrisPerry come up with?

By the way, I just blew through this whole build thread. I like it.

I had a heater hose from the mixer plumbed to the wrong radiator hose. instead of a flow loop, the coolant was getting pushed from both sides and deadended in the mixer..so it would work/not work, randomly over heat....In my defense 40 people looked at it myself included and no one caught it...Chris did a "talking out loud, lets follow the water thru the cooling system, while we all stare at the engine and go is that right?" diagnosis..then we swapped the hose and it bingo.

You 2 jokers crack me up...pretty confident I have as much if not more driving experience than both of you.

I wasn't even counting cop stuff. I was just talking off road experience. Trying to keep it fair..... Since you felt the need to throw popcorn from the cheap seats, I will set you straight too. The actual number is zero preventable accidents in 18 years of police patrol. (in my agency anytime you damage a patrol car (crash, ram, PIT, back into a light pole) it goes before the accident prevention review board. they review it and determine if the accident was preventable or not..3 preventable accidents and your not driving anything). Easily more vehicle pursuits than people registered for BB this year and 4 documented successful P.I.T.S. I have driven/raced/chased cop cars on both Portland International Raceway and The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton WA with a speed ceiling of 120 mph. I average 30 to 50 miles a shift. My patrol area I am responsible to take calls in is 15 city blocks long and 5 city blocks wide. Because of where it is I have the closest access ramps to the major highways that run thru N/S and E/W thru Portland. So I end up getting sent to alot of highway stuff.
