would this work on a 465 to 205??

Yes, but.....you must use the short 32 spline input, round 205 case, notch the adapter for shift rail clearance, and then dream up a shifter setup as there is no boss on the adapter to attach a shifter to. I have done this in a jeep with a cable shifter.
