sm465 won't go into gear

Hi my dad's truck is having some problem with the trans he has a 84 k10 with the sm465 most of the time it works fine but some times when he stops somewhere the truck doesn't want to go back into gear. .any of them a couple times he had to shut the truck off put it in gear then crank it up any suggestions

The clutch needs to be adjusted out. What it's doing is not fully releasing which makes it a real pain to get into gear once stopped.

Thanks for the replies we were gonna try the adjusting but I figured I'd ask for some other possibilities if it does it end up being a going clutch about how much does the clutch and related bearings and such cost
