When I pull the dip stick out after I run my engine there is some smoldering looking smoke creeping out. What is this? Whats the remedy. The engine is a SBC 350.

A valve job or rebuild. That is blow by. Some is to be expected in older engines, but it shouldn't be horribly thick. If it is, your rings are shot or your heads need a valve job. In that case though, if it's REALLY bad, I'd just rebuiuld the whole engine. I had an 87 S-10 Blazer that had so much blow by, it would blow out valve cover gaskets every 3 months.
