Good thing your wife is a nurse, you might be in for a lot of that your whole life with the way things are going so far.

I know, both injuries were borderline needing stitches.

Yep.....I'd use that excuse too if my younger brother smacked me a good one.

Wounds heal, chicks dig scars.....but glory, lasts forever. Get better, Goof.

And it never ever stops with kids. They are always getting hurt and most of the time it sucks. I admit to laughing under my breath occasionally when one of them gets hurt learning common sense.

    We all have scars...
I learned not to touch a hot stove after ignoring many warnings by my mom, sometimes it takes physical injury to get the point across..
More than once it took a good whipping to get me to learn not to touch dad's tools too, despite many verbal warning..

One day I snuck his soldering iron out,and ended up burning the crap out of my fingers...when he found out how it happened,I got the yardstick!...after that I never touched his tools without permission..
(The next Christmas he bought me a woodburner set--said "now that your old enough to respect HOT things"!)..

After thinking back on some of the things I did as a kid ,and lived to tell about it,makes me think we must be made at least partly out of rubber, not to have been killed..
--like the time I ran off the edge of a roof on a school near my house, when I was about 13,some "friends" talked me into drinking whiskey with them, then they took a piece of playground equipment out of the ground and leaned it against the building, and we climbed it like a ladder...then the last guy up decided to knock it over, leaving us no way to get back down...
When one of them saw a car approaching and yelled "Oh no--COPS!--they all scattered...

Not me,I just RAN as fast as I could--next thing I know, there was no roof under me any more..I must have looked like Wile E.Coyote after running off a cliff....

I dropped a good 20 feet to the ground, and landed flat on my a$$...then got up and kept right on running a good 1/8 mile into some woods, fell down a steep hill, and landed on a barbed wire fence!..the other kids climbed down onto a small roof over a doorway and were able to hang off that and only drop a few feet...then they called out to me and said "It's OK ,it wasn't a cop!"....I suffered only cuts and bruises ,but I think my spine was permanently injured..

My 11 year old got his finger food during woods shop today. Don’t know the details but my wife sent these to me.

It actually didn’t get the bone. That’s a little piece of skin that landed there or something?

Thanks man. He’s doing good. He wanted to go back to school!

Good thing he’s right handed. Doc told him “no excuses. You have two hands.”
