Does anyone out there make a snorkel kit for blazers? I know I could fab one out of pvc or somthing, but it sure would be nice to find a custom built one that looked as good as it worked. I see them for Jeeps and Landcruisers all the time, but not for Balzers. Would it be best to just route the intake into the cab if you are going to be in a lot of water or mud? Whats best to use for the air cleaner encloseure? Custom or are they out there somewhere?

Landcruiser FJ80, almost a perfect fit. Otherwise, NO ONE makes them for our years of K5's/Burb's/Trucks

Would a snorkel kit inhibit air intake flow for a carbed engine? I was thinking of fabbing one up, but read somewhere that airflow would be restricted too much. ??

Check out Rootbreakers rig, he's running one ona carb'ed motor with no issues

restriction... no... in the way.. maybe.. just put a stick through it from a pine tree.. busted out the grate in front of it... but all in all... works ok.. mine isnt water proof... yet....

it is mainly more for that.... ya go in and got 300 foot to go.. do you stop or floor it????? :haha:

of course.. if you dont have ac.. just cut a hole on the firewall and into the cab.... or come up from the floor.. I dont mind where mine is... personally I should have finished it.. the snorkel pushes up to my cab almost.. I just havent finished it as it looks far away from the cab. I will get that done soon.... Also I could cut the snorkel down and get the intake lower as I dont think I will ever need to use the snorkel up that high.. unless I have scuba gear on!!!! :haha:

yeah i like the arb one but i dunnno if i like it enoght to spend 320 on it that could buy my truck something cool

well my wife said do it right or dont do it at all... hence the $$ spent on the arb....

i even did the az-kickin.com rear disc conversion.. using d44 calipers... when she found out I didnt have an ebrake.... she made me ( ) buy caddy calipers

ya can go anyway you wish.... some things you can cheap on and some ya dont.... depends on what ya want....:wink1:

Holy cow, that is a nice Blaze. If i am not mistaken, that is the same Blazer that was in the Top Truck Chalenge a few years back. In all my hopes and dreams, that is what I want my blazer to turn out like. Maybe one of these days...after about $50K. Thanks for the pic.

PS. Thanks guys for the ideas, sounds like the FJ80 type is the way to go

is there a reason you chose to run the intake as "forward"? seems it would be better to face it "backward" so that you don't end up slinging mud/water down the snorkle.

could it have a swivel head to turn it around for off-road situations?

it is held on by a hose clamp.... so yes you can turn it around.. I havent got any mud in it ..... YET!!!!!!

Hey Rootbreaker how do you plan on moving it closer to the cab? A little heat gun action?

no there are no bolts up there so it has play in it.. when I go down the road at 50mph.. it vibrates back and forth... about 2" play.. maybe ill get that squared away this weekend....
