I have a roll cage in the truck. Originally it was built to fit under the hard top, but it was only a guess. I think it does :doah: I'm also looking to make a swing down tire carrier in the back. The carrier will be attached to the tube bumper and pin itself to the cage (somehow).

Three things I'm interested in before ordering a soft top (other than more money) '85 blazer btw

Measurement from the floor to the folding frame that holds the top of the soft top. I want to know if my bars will clear this or not.

When the top is folded back and laid on the tail gate, how far away from the tail gate is it? Meaning.... I want to make sure my vertical bars are far enough away from the tailgate.

Lastly, can I get a few close ups of the bar going across the tail gate. Pics of the corner on the outside and inside and maybe what it looks like across the tail gate. I'm thinking about doing some flat bar, coming from the cage, between the soft top bar and tailgate, and out to a pin for the tire carrier.

:dunno::doah:

Thanks doods :thumb:

I think Ryoken had one of those on his K5 before the makeover....he might have some info for ya?

subscribed to get you some pics and measurements when I'm home next week

I have a soft top, and looking at your pic I would say it would be incredibly close. The bars are very long so they might just fit.

The rear bar sits up high over the tailgate, about where the top of the glass would be when raised, and there is a front bar that sits over the passenger area. However, you can take it off (both actually) which might work in your case.

Thanks guys, can't wait

also, my C hoop fits under the hardtop, about 1-1.5" under it :waytogo:

If you can get your hard top on, I would bet you can get the soft top on as well.

softoppers are made to hold the same internal dimensions as you would have with your hard top on. so if everything works and fits under your hard top, your good
