If I read the badging correctly I think it's got a diesel in it.

Bonus... This was just in between the big crew can and the utility bed.

White crew cab looks to have the 6.2 diesel hood ornament on it..cant tell but the side emblems look diesel too...that Suburban is pretty rust free for 1500 bucks!..mine used to look almost that good when I got it in november 2009,but it ain't so pretty now..

Should be a tag on the drivers side lower corner of the dash, visible through the windshield...there usually is a tag on the door itself or the jamb, and one in the glove box with a VIN on it too,but those can be changed too easily to bolting on a different door or glove box and peeling off the one on the jamb...the tag is harder to mess with, and its felonious to try altering or swapping one...the original rivets are special hex headed ones ...but those can be had from various sources too..

Hmm...I had the dash pad off the Suburban this week and noticed my VIN plate has plain pop-rivets holding it on. I checked against my other trucks and all three had normal-looking hardware-store pop-rivets. :dunno:

Do you have a picture of what the special rivets look like?

I saw those for sale once. They were pretty expensive, and marketed towards the resto crowd.

Wtf. I have way more into my Reid knuckle with studs, spacer, and steering arm lol.

We use to sell them, then they would have them on backorder for 6+ months at a time. For all I know, they've been out of them for years.

They also only work on trucks with 8"+ of lift.

That's cause they're kind of illegal :D Reason you'll see ugly VIN tags and rivets even on a restored vehicle. And really, I'd rather see that too. If the vehicle is what it says it is and no funny business with the title, then who's gunna ask? Swap them out and keep steppin.

I've seen late model blazers with regular rivets in the dash too. My '68 C10 has the rosette rivets in the door jam. I think my cousin's '65 nova had them too.
