Soooo I did the stack this weekend......

Fock the naysayers.........:shame:

If you like it, that's all that matters, Luke. And I know for a fact that if YOU did the mod, it was done as nice as possible.

This reminds me of something I once said, and yes, you guys can quote me if you want:

"Cool is in the eyes of the beholder". :deal:

Oh can can you know I did it with my own hands. I cut the bed with the 6" hole saw........and you know I've got thick skin. I've done EVERYTHING to this truck with my own hands.....even change my injection pump on the road in January in front of MONEYPIT's house in Denver. On my road trip.

Seriously though I know its not for everyones taste, and thats fine. I don't give a crap what anyone thinks about my truck good or bad.

I love it and I'm a picture whore.

Well, and no offense to anybody here, but there are very few people on this site putting out that kind of power with that kind of smoke. I dig stacks and i would rather see the smoke going up then in somebody's window, no matter how fun it is to smoke out ricers

Cool deal...but what I want to see is some seriously liquified tires now. :D :D

Let's see some vids Luke, quit teasing us with the brag sheet and get er done!!! :p:

Are you ever coming out here for Dyno days at BD power?

You don't actually believe that do you?

This exhaust IS 3' shorter than stock and with less bends AND no muffler.......stock system is 3" I run a 5" down pipe off the 5" outlet of my secondary turbo...........directly into a 6" stack. how much back pressure do you think there is?

Flappers are gHay. Thats all I have to say about that.

Rain......are you serious? There is no problem.

I guess Corky Bell doesn't know what he's talking aboot.....

WTF is wrong with people lately? I know I'm in a bad mood and this really isn't that big of a deal but come on guys...everyone knows what I was talking about so theres no need to be a prick about it...and god dang talk about jumping on the band wagon and then losing your balls a couple posts later....:doah:

Avery,

It's actually a creamer cover.... I see them all the time during breakfast at the old-school diners. :D

Not a fan of stacks, but then again I don't like truggies, bluggies, trazers or blucks much either. Guess I'm just getting to be a grumpy old man....

:usaflag:

i think it looks cool.. even for a dodge:D

j/k truck looks nice and seems like you have alot of work done too it.. and tq #'s?

I say do a little more research on exhaust header design before you make another juvenile post :deal: .

sorry if you took that as an insult i was just thinking out loud
your post didnt make alot of sense to me it seemed like you were saying that his 5in straight pipe exhaust was restrictive and was not a good upgrade
furthermore that a gas that rises would back up in a 6in vertical chamber

I don't know who Corky Bell is but I've heard the name before. That doesn't appear to be a Diesel engine at all. T he "header" / exhaust manifold is before the turbo and that is critical in shape and dimension............we here are talking about post turbo. Where we all know zero backpressure is idea in a diesel post turbo.

I don't see what your gripe is. First you talk about exhaust gas backing up in a 6" stack. Which is just lunacy. Now you're talking about the exhaust manifold. Which was never brought up before. I have an ATS 3 peice exhaust manifold in my truck.

Explain to me exactly what you're talking about and lets go from there.

Oops!

My mistake. I forgot turbo's are exclusive to diesels  .

Who said I had one  ???

You think an exhaust like yours acts the same as an exhaust that comes straight out of the turbine housing and only two feet in length (to illustrate the point)?

I don't understand what your point is with your first response............thats an asinine statement.

You obviously have some sort of malfunction.......

and yes. If you lay out my stock exhaust system.....beside the current pipes. you would understand. I can't make you understand though that to have back pressure after the turbo in a 5" diameter pipe the engine would have to be in excess of 45 liters displacement, like a Cummins QSK45 for example, that I routinely work on in a 2250 horspower oilfield configuration, those use a 12"-15" pipe. My engine is 5.9 liters.

You could also get the old engineering hat on.....look up a formula for the flow rate of 5" ID pipe and the total exhaust output of my engine if you want/

So you can tell me what Corky has to say about stuff or what you think he is trying to say........or tell me your personal experiences with high horsepower Cummins.

You think an exhaust like yours acts the same as an exhaust that comes straight out of the turbine housing and only two feet in length

I just don't like how you can the expansion from 5" to 6"
