Sooooo...... I bought a semi!

The L10/M11 package regularly put down 1000hp in the circle track race trucks.

Very much like these ones. Same as the C12 that I have in mine. Big power small package. They don't use the big bore engines for racing. Too heavy.

Saw this deal on craigslist, couldn't afford it, but couldn't afford to pass it up! 1990 Kenworth T400A. 2004 Kaufman four car wedge. It has the undesirable L10 cummins, oh well. I think it will be fine for this Size truck. And 10 speed eaton fuller.

Ah ah yes good. Decal each door "Private carrier Not for Hire"

Unless you go all in commercial and get a dot number. Don't "get caught" going half way. ThTs not a hole you want to be in.

Awesome. Love it. Actually love the trailer too. I'm looking for something like a 40'er for mine. I'd like a landall or similar. But those are big bucks.

But Why would you say the L10 is undesirable?
I'm very excited to have this thing! Only said that about the L 10 Because it seemed to be the general consensus upon a Google search… I know, can't believe everything the Internet says!
I like the trailer also. Further looking reveals those are oil filled rear axles .

I can't wait to see more chevys and personal hauls with personal stuff and put on with personal time with personal tie downs on the trailer
Yes! Everything is personal! Cough cough

Nice, congrats! Are you driving this on your current trip? We need more pics!!
Unfortunately, no. The trailer is out at 63ChevyII's, the tractor is sitting at my place. I picked it all up Saturday morning right before I left on my trip. More pictures to come as soon as I get back!

Sssshhhhhh. It is for personal use only.

That's the plan, already talked to a guy about making me some fancy "not for hire" stickers. Going to run a private for the time being, just to get any little bugs worked out and be able to move it around town. Working with a good customer of mine back on the East Coast. He's interested in purchasing vehicles from out West and having them brought out east. He's already a full-service Tow company, repair shop etc.… May end up working with him to get DOT and motor carrier numbers. We will see. Bummer yours is just sitting out in the cold all lonely! Ha ha

Pulled my first load on a short haul from Colorado Springs to Denver for the tri-state swap meet! Pulled pretty well. Ol girl tops out at 65. Loses a little speed on the hills, but does good!

Very cool! They are nice to have. Here is my dads tow rig, Cummins M11 and 10 speed, my brother and I can use if needed... Of course it is overkill for most things. Sits in the shop 95% of the time since we all have 3/4 ton Cummins powered pickups too. :waytogo:

Looks awesome with the trailer behind it!
How was the mileage pulling that load?
Thanks! Not real sure on mileage yet. It was a fairly short trip to get accurate. Had a lot of idle time due to the weather too.

top out at 65 for lack of gear/power or computer gov programed ?
Lack of gear. It's governed to 2100RPM with a 9 speed and a 3.70 rear. It slowed on some hills and what not, but you could tell it was from a low fuel setting. It was hardly working. On the flats it didn't even seem to know the load was there. Revved to 2100, stayed there, even boost reduced since it hardly felt it.

I hear that! Nice truck though. Someday I hope to have something a little more fancy/ comfortable. But at the same time, I like the simplicity of this one, Mechanical inj, no abs, etc... But the leaf springs susp sure does suck.

Absolutely! I've actually looked into 3.08 gears, for the long hauls. I know hills will require a little more work and possibly a slower pull. But the 70+ on the flats will make me happier in the long run. Its at 270 hp rating right now. Might look into bumping it to the 330 rating to help out a little too. I think this was a purchase that couldn't have been better for a starter rig at the price.

Good to know. I always like to hear that requested advice was good.

I thought it had more HP. I'm at 420 and would like more.
