Thinking I'm gonna be ready for another shake down run with the buggy. Planning to run spring creek Saturday and hoping the third time is a charm and we make the whole trail this time. The first two times snow kept us from doing the whole trail. Any body wanna go? Wanna do a different trail?

I'm afraid I'm out. I'm hoping I'll be able to do something the 20/21, but it will probably end up being the 27/28 knowing how thing always take longer than you think they will.

Me too. I'll be honest, I didn't even know what Blazer Bash was until a few months ago.

2018 is the big BB for most people. 50th anniversary of the Blazer. Plan now for that one.

:frown1: You found a replacement yet?

I can't go this weekend. Things are going to start getting busy with kids back to school and hunting season creeping up, so I need to spend as much time as I can getting my crew cab running, lift done, and registered. So I will be working on that this weekend

Well we went to spring creek Saturday. Got to the first obstacle and since I went right up it last time I figured I would try a harder line, there was a little mud and water at the bottom. I got a little carried away with the throttle and ended up breaking a rear u joint and twisting the driveshaft ears a little so we weren't able to change the joint. Ran back to the shop in Boulder and pulled a brand new rear shaft and flanges off one of my other project Blazers. Got it all fixed up and headed to Avon Saturday night, stayed the night and ran Holy Cross trail on Sunday. Got a late start, got to the trail head just before 12. Ran the whole trail, picked what looked to be the hardest line at each obstacle and made it. We got back to the trail head about 830 and made it home about 130 am. Ended up loosing a rear u joint cap on the way down the trail due to the ears on the rear yoke getting broke off the day before. Found a small cap took the roller bearings out, it then fit over the big cap end. Slid a water bottle cap over the end wrapped it with some duct tape to make it big enough to fit. It lasted the whole way down and almost the whole dirt rode back to the trailer. It was an awesome trip. Will try to post some pics later.

Getting back at 1:30AM from Holy Cross is something I've done before. LOL It's a challenging trail that always manages to leave a mark somewhere.

It is an awesome trail, the views and scenery are incredible. On the way to the trail head if you go from I70 there is a really cool bridge you drive over. The trail starts out pretty narrow then opens up once you get in a ways. It has a little bit of everything a little mud, water, water crossing, rocks, off camber rocks. They have winch points mounted in the rocks on the technical spots. I've been wanting to run it for over 20 years and finally got the chance to do it. I'd be up for doing it again if anybody wants to.
