Square body on the road?

I have a feeling some of that has to do with the environment. Out here its mostly dry and arid so more like a 70's truck won't have rusted out.

My buddy’s 2006 Chevy had the shackles rust off in six years here in the rust belt. Rust kills most vehicles pa. But I still see some pre 88 pickups, saw a farmer driving a round eye the other day. I’m sure most of floor boards were in tact. There are a couple k5s around but I don’t see them on the highway much. I run mine about 20 miles on I80 every weekend I go to camp.

this is joysey, they are few and far between these days... heck, we haven't had pick/pull yards in 25 yr's...

i can't remember the last round eye i saw.. there are some 80's blazers and jimmy's running around.. i'll see 2 or 3 around occasionally, with like 4" and 35's.. there are 1 or 2 guys that run stockish CUCV stuff around here too... but Mutt is the dominant square in this neck O' suburbia... ;)

Here in the land of hybrids and electric cars it's a rare treat to see a mid-70s square on the road. I do see them, but at a cadence of about 1-2 a week. The squares do get love and respect though. There hasn't been a day that goes by when driving my 75 that i dont get asked questions about it or get thumbs up.

Don't see too many round eyes around here. A few square eyes. Plenty of jeeps & Toyota's most are rock crawlers and a few early Broncos.

I commute 72 miles round trip in my 1980 K5 on nice days in the Metroplex. I don't see many other squares on the tollway.

There's quite a few squares around here actually... Being a rust state they're in all stages from NICE! to "how is it staying together?" Lol. But there's a lot of them.

After seeing this thread yesterday, I really paid attention on my drive home from Boise to Emmett...and I counted 8 square bodies. Mix between pickups, blazers, and burbans ranging from 70's round headlights all the way up to the 89-91 grill/headlights. And that was just a 40 min drive home.

And those were not the ones I counted sitting in the yards next to homes that look like they haven't been driven in forever...those were driving down the road

I see quite a few here. Not much rust. I try to drive the crew cab a few times a week, and at least once a month on the 45 mile commute to work.

80s Suburbans more than Blazers
Trucks are the majority but mostly work trucks still humpin away
Over the course of a week, maybe 7 total and most of those are the same every day. :(

In CA, anything after 75 is smogged. So that's what kills the squares. Of course if you go to the mud pit, you will see tons of squares.

Funny, I can DD my '68 and get asked about it maybe 10 times a year. Just depends on where you are, nobody gives old vehicles respect or a second look around here. The Blazer is just a freak show so that's the type of looks and questions I'll get.

All I ever see is late 80s to 91 burbs. Usually 2 wheelers. Not counting the blue 79 shitbox in my yard, that should soon be Mobil.

Round eyes are only out in car show season.

living in Wisconsin I about cry when I see one on the road in the salt months of the year. Very seldom do you see a round light on the road hear any more. I appreciate seeing high school kids driving them but you just know they are driving them to their death.
There's a 77 with a plow on it near me that looks brand new! I've had eyes on it for years even asked asked the guy if he wanted to part with about 10-12 years ago and he just said what would I plow my driveway with then? I don't think that the guy even drives to the gas station to get gas for it in the winter.

According to what I've seen on the "How much are square bodies worth" thread, that one right there should have a $64k price tag on it, right @skunked?

Well today I saw 8 squares on the road I couldn't take pictures. I'll pay more attention to how many are I the road
