Stalls after coming to a stop

I have 1990 K5, recently it has started stalling once its been driven for a bit and I come to a complete stop at a light or stop sign. It fires right back up but seems to stall at every stop. Please help with ideas... I cant figure it out.
 
Engine and type of fuel delivery?

I'd start with the simple stuff- fuel filter, air filter, plug wires tight, etc.
 
Check the TBI gasket, common for them to leak. Take something like carb cleaner (with the spray nozzle) and lightly spray around the gasket. If there’s a leak you’ll hear the rpm increase.
 
I’ve had this issue in a TBI engine. Had a flat spot in the TPS where it would see 0 volts instead of the .5 or so it should see when the throttle blades are closed
 
I replaced the IAC with a generic and it ran worse, so I put the original one back in. Can over tightening them or not tightening them enough cause something like this? Also any recommendations on what to clean it with?

You do have to do a reset on the IAC if you replace it

its a 350 stock engine and I am about to replace the fuel pump with the Delphi fuel pump and sender assembly.

Full disclosure, I am a learn as I go mechanic at this point. I didnt know you had to do a reset, I also dont know how to do the reset. Can you walk me through that process?

Throwing parts at things is not a valid mechanism to repair a vehicle. You've seen this based on the IAC replacement. Anymore often what you replace is worse than what was already on the rig, since almost everything anymore is of unknown quality, no matter who's name is on it. You can go broke replacing everything that "might" be the problem, and still not fix the issue.

Fuel pressure can be tested, if you have an Autozone nearby, for free since they will loan you the tools.
